The candles are inspired by the technique of lace made from copper wire and metal, created using bobbin lacework — the technique in which the artist Artem Lyapin works. Uzelki were made for his exhibition Light My Fire. Each knot contains a wick that ignites when the flame reaches it, slightly intensifying the burning before fading out.
• Svetlica candles are crafted from natural beeswax sourced from local independent beekeepers. The wax is often manually purified, which means that small dark specks may appear in the candles. These are natural particles that remained in the wax during the transformation of plant nectar into beeswax.
• Each candle is handmade without the use of molds, following the centuries-old technique of poured candles. This makes every candle slightly unique, with subtle differences in shape, weight, and the character of its dot pattern.
